WorksWatch # 1
My local Works in Newbury has some DVDs in stock. Most are, unsurprisingly, deeply awful, and only worth considering if you're in the market for a replacement Amaray case.
However, sorting through the dross turned up some bargains!
- Ace Lightning volume 1 - caught one episode of this when I was off sick, and it's simply fab. Lord Fear is very, very frightening
- Secret Policeman's Ball volume 1 - the '76 and '77 Amnesty International shows
- This and this on a double-sided (flipper) DVD
These were £1.49 each. See Brett, we can afford to buy cheap things!
Ok, I expect the Le Blanc / Eddie Izzard outing (if that's not an inappropriate word) is probably dire, but Let Him Have It is a fine film, with 'Now you see him, now you don't' 9th Doctor Who - Christopher Eccleston.
If anyone's local Works or equivalent has later volumes of Ace Lightning (the BBC Shop only shows this one though) or Remember The Secret Policeman's Ball? for similarly stupid prices, let me know. Similarly if you're as amazed as I am, and want me to try and pick a copy of any of these for you.
